Irizar i3le hybrid

This suburban vehicle is a 13 metre Irizar i3 low-entry with 45 seats and a PRM platform. As this is a short-haul commuter vehicle, it offers modularity that allows for adjustments in passenger capacity to suit customer needs. The versions available are 10.7, 12.2 or 2 axle 12.75 and 3 axle 15 metre.

The 15 metre version has a 57 seat capacity and a PRM and can be configured optionally with any number of PRMs.

The hybridisation technology developed by Irizar is parallel hybrid technology. A latest generation diesel or bio-diesel engine (HVO, hydrogenated vegetable oils diesel) is combined with an electric motor that provides power or generates electricity and, depending on the situation, the engines can act either individually or together to achieve optimum efficiency and performance.

The two axle up to 13 metre version has a 6.7 litre Cummins engine with 300 hp and 1200 Nm of torque and meets European regulation 6 Step D. The hybridisation package is an Eaton model, which consists of a 6 speed Eaton-Fuller robotic gear box plus an inverter and a water cooled EDRIVE (44/65 KW) electric motor and MGL lithium-ion batteries.

The 3 axle 15 m long version, because it is a 25 Tm coach, has an 8.9 I ODB C Cummins engine with 370 hp and 1600 Nm torque.

The vehicle is supplied with ZF independent front axle suspension, a Vdo-Conti multiplexed electric system, Alcoa aluminium wheels and 295/80 R 22.5″ tires. It complies with the UN ECE R66.02 regulation and the school transportation standard.
